About
The Cargal Group is a multidisciplinary packaging concern.
Even prior to its expansion, Cargal was the most prominent, innovative company in its field, boasting proven experience of several decades, registered patents and international awards.
In 2005, Cargal launched its flexible packaging activities by acquiring and merging activities with Yana - a company specializing in flexible packaging using the flexo technology - and Gellis - the most experienced and professional flexible packaging manufacturer. In 2007, Cargal completed the acquisition of the Plasto-Sac Group, which also embraces the Plasto Mor plant. All flexible packaging activity has been merged under the Plasto-Sac umbrella.
These acquisitions have enabled "Cargal" to substantially increase its sales turnover and to become a multidisciplinary packaging concern.
Cargal's strategic concept as a group of plants capable of providing multidisciplinary packaging solutions was designed by the C.I. cardboard industry company, which acquired Cargal in 2004.
These developments have enabled the Cargal Group to operate in new fields and develop innovative packaging products made from a wide range of raw materials, and have positioned the company as a key player in Israel's packaging industry, with a significant potential for foreign market penetration.
The C.I. Company holds 73% of the Company's shares while Clal Industries and Investments Ltd. holds 27% of the shares. In 2007, the scope of the Group's activities amounted to 665 million nis.
